Jeannie Martinez is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from DePaul University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University. Jeannie has experience working with teens (15+), young adults, and adults across inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting clients with concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, suicidality, self-harm, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship issues, identity development, and mood disorders.
Jeannie believes that starting therapy is an act of self-care and a powerful step toward personal growth and healing. Her style is easygoing, conversational, and collaborative, while also gently challenging. She takes an integrative, strength-based approach that blends relational work with practical skills-building to help clients gain insight, increase self-awareness, and develop effective coping strategies. Jeannie values understanding each client as a whole person within the larger systems they are part of and helps clients explore how early life experiences shape current patterns, relationships, and self-beliefs.
As a second-generation Mexican American (she/her/ella), Jeannie is passionate about destigmatizing mental health care within communities of color, particularly within Latino communities. She strives to provide a culturally responsive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to create meaningful and lasting change. Jeannie offers therapy services in both English and Spanish.
