Alexis is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at National Louis University who uses a person-centered approach to support clients on their journey toward wellness. With client autonomy as a core belief, Alexis seeks to help clients feel empowered through taking control of their healing and aims to serve as a listening ear and champion for her clients throughout the process. For the past 5 years, Alexis worked as a high school teacher where she discovered her love of supporting the development of others and looks forward to translating that into a clinical, therapeutic setting. This experience informs her passion in helping fellow teachers and adolescents alike. Alexis’s other clinical interests include depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and relationship issues.
